Organisers of the Wanstead Beer Festival face a welcome problem after a record 1,300 people turned up for this year’s event – and drank their way through more than 50 beers and ciders.
The annual festival, held at Christ Church halls, attracted almost three times as many visitors as its first outing four years ago.
Proceeds will be shared between three local good causes – the River Roding Trust, Wanstead Memorial Restoration and Growing Hope – once organisers have finished counting the takings.
Co-organiser Paul Donovan said: “It was a fantastic turnout on the day. The beer festival has gone from strength to strength, and the challenge now is to meet the growing demand next year, something we’re all thinking about.”
