An evening with the LB Redbridge ‘Head of Trees’

Peter Marshall, Redridge’s Chief Arboricultural Officer, is the guest speaker at the first Wanstead Climate Action monthly meeting of 2026.

Peter will talk about: Tree care; Methods of weed control; Feasibility of a ‘Pesticide-free Redbridge’;  How residents can be helped/encouraged to adopt or care for trees; Whether there can be more engagement after new planting; Current arrangements with contractors for tree care after planting; Reasons for, and statistics on, tree deaths; Pollarding.

The changing climate has had a significant impact on our trees and gardens. This is a great opportunity to engage with the Council on how these issues are being addressed locally, and what could possibly be done better.
