Forest Philharmonic plays Elgar, Holst and Florence Price
HOLST Beni Mora, Oriental Suite in E minor,
PRICE Symphony No. 3 in C m
Conductor Mark Shanahan
The highlight of this concert will be Forest Philharmonic’s first performance of a work by the wonderful, but long underrated black American pianist and composer Florence Price (1887-1953). In the first half of the concert though, you will hear music inspired by English composers on their travels: Elgar evokes Italy while Holst evokes Algeria.
If you are interested in attending all four of our main concerts this season (Sunday 15th October 2023, Sunday 10th December 2023, Sunday 10th March 2024 & Sunday 30th June 2024) you might be interested in purchasing a Season Pass.
