Join us for an exceptional concert of string-inspired music by award-winning composer Simone Spagnolo, featuring American violinist Timothy Schwarz, Head of Strings at Rowan University, New Jersey, and two unique harp-ensembles of Masters Performers from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Greenwich.

The programme will include chamber and film compositions, featuring works for solo violin, violin and piano, a graphic score for harp-flute-sax trio, and a peculiar sextet of two flues, two harps, celesta and speaking voice.

Doors will open at 6.30pm with an informal refreshment. The concert will begin at 7pm.

Performers: violinist Timothy Schwarz; harpists Clara Gatti Comini, Maria McNamee and Lucia Foti; flutist Maisie Whiteman, Mary Bull and Faith Whiteley, saxophonist Lily Skinner; keyboardist Celia Margalef Boquera; voice specialist Serena Braida.

This event will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Wanstead. The ticket’s price includes one complementary drink. Proceeds will be donated to charity, towards further musical activities at the parish.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Simone Spagnolo’s music has been performed in internationally known venues and festivals such as London’s Royal Festival Hall, St.Martin-in-the-Fields, Blackheath Halls, Riverside Studios, Tete-a-Tete Festival, Opera in the City Festival, Mumford Theatre, Italian Cultural Institute London, Birmingham Conservatoire, Stanford University, Los Angeles’ Aratani Theatre, Brno’s Janacek Academy, Budapest’s Liszt Academy, Zaragoza’s Conservatorio Superiore, Chongqing University, Hong Kong’s Yuen Long Theatre, and Pennsylvania’s Great Lakes Film Festival, among others.

Having composed music for concerts, theatre, opera, ballet, film and multimedia, Simone has received commissioned from institutions and companies such as Trinity Laban Conservatoire, ChinaWest Productions, Opera Viscera, Gray Lady Productions, WOH Productions, Fabergé LTD, Lost Picture Production and Dance Ahead.

Simone has received numerous awards, including the Asia America Symphony Orchestra Composition Prize (Los Angeles) and Philip Bates Prize (Birmingham), and in 2011 he has been appointed as artist-in-residence at Bergen’s USF Verftet, Norway.

Having gained a Ph.D. in composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Simone is Head of Composition at the London College of Music. Previously he lectured at Cambridge’s Anglia Ruskin University, and University of Cumbria,
