Travelling Through The Thrill; an interactive night of tall tales, wine tasting and travel hacks
Have you ever wondered how to travel the world without any money? Find the funny in the fearsome? Turn not-quite-making-it into a win?
In her third ever solo, Wanstead resident Carole Edrich wants to tell you in a brand new type of event. This new experience; part comedy narrative, part stand-up, part wine tasting and all interactive, will tour the UK next year.
Among other things, you’ll hear tales from Chile, Argentina, Slovenia and Finland, the importance of being a World Class Poodler, how she calls on her inner ADHDiva to get out of – and into – all kinds of trouble, and why recovery from aggressive breast cancer hasn’t changed her approach.
Carole, who grew up in Wanstead and further up by travelling pretty much everywhere else, says that while she agrees with Terry Pratchett that writing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on, sharing tall tales with strangers whilst tasting wine and trying to remember her own jokes comes a pretty close second.
Guided by the audience (a lot of what is covered will depend directly on you), Carole will share memorable moments and explain why she chose each of the four wines that we’ll taste.
Carole has visited and written about over 110 countries and spent most of the last 10 years working in the performing arts. She has written more articles than she can count, taught photography for years, trained in wine tasting at WSET London, has written and contributed to over 15 books (and ghost-written more), her photographic work has won prizes and she forgot her words as a main character in a serious classical play. This is the third in a series where she puts them all together.
This 70-minute event may run longer, depending on how much people enjoy the wine. The price is inclusive of a tasting of four wines or non-alcoholic equivalents. If you want the non-alcoholic equivalent, contact Carole direct.
