Why shoot black & white documentary pictures on film in an era of easy digital colour?

Tuesday 24 September at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Awarding winning news and documentary photographer Russell Boyce will showcase some of his latest social documentary photography and exhibition work so expect to see lots of pictures and have a bit of fun.

He will discuss his story-telling thinking, the work flow from initial idea to exhibition and publication and creative processes including; why use black and white film in preference to digital colour (and when to break that rule); reveal some secrets about composition, line and shapes in a square format and how to ethically take pictures of strangers.

Equally important is that once you have taken a picture or covered a story how to get it seen? Russell will try to address self-promotion, considering exhibition space and sharing content on social media.
