There is more music than ever in this year’s Wanstead Fringe, which starts on Friday night with an eve-of-Fringe concert hosted by opera star Lucy Crowe OBE and her husband Joe Walters – now a regular and incredibly popular fixture in the fringe.
But it’s followed in quick succession on Saturday by live bands at the Duke Street Party, a concert of harp and guitar music from Latin America and Spain at St Gabriels, and favourite local rock, soul and pop band The Replacement Hipsters at the Golf Club.
On Sunday afternoon a recital by composers Anastasia Nikki Forova, Jess Kennedy and Asa Lindstrom at Wanstead Methodist Church offers a collaboration performed on piano, violin, cello and voice.
That’s not a bad haul of music for the Fringe’s first weekend. Please do support live music by getting tickets now via the Fringe website.
