The School of Simple Swaps is a new climate-awareness programme created by local environmental campaigner Lydia Fraser-Ward. The project welcomes participants into her home in Woodford Green to learn about simple changes – or swaps – that they can make to their homes and everyday lives to reduce waste and lower their carbon footprint. The programme is designed to offer busy families and working professionals manageable bite-sized chunks of information which can lead to direct action, within a relaxed environment where
they can ask questions and make connections with other local residents. The programme covers a range of topics, from composting and homemade toiletries to fast fashion and green banking. The School of Simple Swaps focuses on developing practical skills in person and welcomes families with young children to take part, whilst supporting knowledge sharing amongst the community.
