© Geoff Wilkinson, who writes on Wanstead Daily Photo: "Wanstead was covered in fog a couple of nights ago and because this is not a frequent occurrence, I grabbed the camera bag and instead of heading toward the High Street I went to the river Roding. I captured this mystical scene showing reflections in the river and the ghostly lights of the A406 in the background."

Nominate your best Wanstead-bought present

There’s still time to nominate items for the Wanstead Gift List 2012, our annual compilation of great Christmas presents which can be bought from Wanstead shops.

One reader, believed to be the wife of a prominent commentator on Wanstead property matters, nominated the following item: “Small leather clutch bag/purse with contrast leather bow. £20 from The Orange Tree – I particularly like the charcoal with mat gold bow (big hint here to husband…)”. Others have suggested items from Oxfam and the Larder.

Because of a complete technical ballsup problems we had last week, we have extended the nomination period until the end of Friday this week. Please submit your suggestions using the form below.

© Geoff Wilkinson, who writes on his Wanstead Daily Photo blog: “This is a picture taken from Woodbine Place at dusk of Wanstead Library opened by Patrick Jenkin MP for Woodford on the 4th October 1969. Fortunately, unlike many other libraries it has remained opened. Although it’s an easy building to overlook in daylight, at dusk the light shining through the windows of this three tiered building is hard to ignore.”
