The Duke Street Party once again truly got the Fringe off to a good start, even though it had to dodge various short sharp showers.
It followed the largest yet Wanstead Makers’ Market which showed some of the creative talent around here.
On Sunday there are three Fringe events to enjoy.
- From 2.30pm there will be Jazz on the Green – on Nightingale Green, along with a BBQ and drinks from the Nightingale pub.
- For those seeking exercise or inspiration, Marian Temple, chief revolutionary in the band of Wanstead’s guerrilla gardeners, will lead a walk around Wanstead taking in all the areas where rogue cultivation has taken place. Meet under the bridge at Snaresbrook station at 3pm.
- And finally for those who want to see the greatest play ever written, Hamlet will be shown by the Wanstead Kinema upstairs at the Manor House, starting at 6pm. There are tickets still available.
