The Lane on Nightingale Lane has been named as the winner in the UK’s National Curry Awards in a remarkable scoop for the Wanstead restaurant.
More details are to be announced at the award ceremony at the House of Lords next week, but the winners have been revealed to Time Out, which broke the news.
Time Out‘s food and drink editor Leonie Cooper said she was not surprised a London restaurant should win the award. “I am utterly convinced that London has some of the best curries in the country, from classic Stokey veggie joint Rasa’s creamy bagar baingan to Borough Market newcomer Rambutan’s prawn curry with tamarind.”
Great news well done to them ,all the hard work payed off
OK, but wouldn’t say it was the best curry house in which l’ve eaten.
The award seems a bit odd to me.
It’s an OK restaurant but nothing special churning out the tried and trusted favourites.
