Sadly they closed at the end of June. Not sure of the circumstances.
NO! wanstead news has been my childhood sweetshop since i was 9. 2 sets of lovely owners, what a shame
Though the reasons here are unknown as yet, it has to be said, the rent charges for shops on the high street seem to be so catastrophically high that it’s a wonder any commercial enterprise manages to survive here. It’s time landlord greed stopped being a factor in many of these closures.
