Adieu, swings. You've served us well but it's time to go. @Wansteadium @WeLoveWanstead pic.twitter.com/cI5jKRI5Jd

Is it just me that is worried that they are putting the apparatus in place before sorting out the ground?
I would like some answers on this… The ground in the park is shocking.
They won’t be installing new equipment on the existing ground. New surfacing will be laid before each piece gets installed. The contractors had to empty the delivery truck so larger pieces have been left on the ground for now. Alas poor swings… I knew them well….
Wow, those yellow diggers look so realistic – might have to have a play on those myself….
Even when demolished, the old playground is instantly recognisable. Lol.
Can’t wait for the new one 🙂
Went past site of old swings today – happy days
Is it just me or have you missed great opportunity to replace cold metal totalitarian looking playground apparatus with lovely natural wood alternatives – look at other parks – Stratford/ Highgate etc and you’ll see some really innovative ideas and designs – sadly a point lost in Wanstead
