The rain overnight seems to have averted – perhaps just temporarily – an invasion of giant flying ants. For the time being there’s no need to welcome our new insect overlords.

There is one own the bottom of my shoe
Walking from Snaresbrook to Wanstead on that evening, the paths/pavements where covered in them! All the way to my front door.. This morning I am happy to report that only the teeny ants remain.
