Hermon Hill traffic plea renewed

Hermon Hill residents are again appealing for Redbridge to take action following a collision at a spot where last year bollards were knocked down in a similar incident.

Resident Lloyd Sampson said: “In the past few years we have had an air ambulance at the traffic lights, the traffic lights were then separately knocked down as was the old hospital wall twice. It is a ludicrous situation and people genuinely feel unsafe walking down this stretch of Hermon Hill.”

In 2021 hundreds of signatures were collected in a petition calling for road safety on that stretch of road to be addressed, as we reported here.

  1. Again! Live in New Wanstead which is an extension of the race track from Charlie Brown’s roundabout to the Green Man roundabout. Major collision outside my house a couple of years which actually shook the house. The driver of the car which took the impact suffered a broken thigh bone and had to be cut out of the car. Cause – a young driver traveling at a reckless speed. Unfortunately for him l got all of it on CCTV. Also a major problem with same drivers who have illegally altered exhausts making them extremely loud and which invalidates insurance. So how do their cars pass MOT tests – bent ones of course! Have pleaded with police and council countless times for something to be done about these problems but nothing happens. Not even on their radar.
