I’ve seen them in my garden – Rodney Road. So striking. You can’t help but go WOW!
I see them in the trees by our house too
I have seen as many as two dozen taking off in a flock. This year there are many more than last year!
There was an interesting discussion on Parakeets during last weeks Spring Watch. Apparantly one myth is that Jimi Hendrix released some birds into the dull London sky from his flat to brighten it up. There seems to be little current evidence as to whether the parakeets are going to disrupt or adapt to the ecology of the locations where they are now settling and whether they will threaten existing species. However as they seem to have been here for several decades with no noticeable change to the ecological balance seems the risk is low.
Where exactly is this please?
