Thank you for the lovely pic to start the day: the moss is bryum species, v common everywhere but none the less beautiful for that. When the little capsules are ripe, they fling back their heads and distribute the new spores over a wide area, bit like a big sneeze.

Glad you like the picture. Thank you for identifying the name of the moss, it just looks fantastic when you get close up to it. I shall return next year to check out the results of the “Big Sneeze”, Hopefully, lots more little forests. I will post your identification of the species on my Blog for our other readers.
