What can we tell about Wanstead’s wine bar-to-be?

Wanstead High Street is to get a new wine bar in the site where Coco has been for a number of years.

The new wine bar will be a branch of Must Wine, which has bars in St Albans and Hampstead. If Wanstead’s is like the others, it will be offering food and wine – the menu, which includes a pretty sophisticated range of food to eat alongside a glass is available here.

We must say that we think this looks like a pretty impressive addition to that end of the High Street. At the Snaresbrook end, Daygustation is doing something similar and making the most of pavement cafe lifestyle. It’s all part of the apparent ongoing transition of Wanstead into a place for bars, restaurants and cafes.

Good luck to them on their new venture.

  1. There is already an abundance of restaurants, bars, pubs etc already in the area. Many of which are excellent and I regularly use.
What worries me is can they all survive? Especially in the current economic climate!
The sample menu seems somewhat pretentious and over priced?
I myself like a decent glass of wine accompanied by a few nibbles, but I believe the cost could and should at least be reasonable!
Having just returned from Italy where many wine bars etc offer free nibbles/ snacks whilst drinking ,I feel this could be a more viable option?
Of course it is good to see any new business open and another option, but are we reaching saturation level of this type of establishment and will there be a tipping point?

    1. Thanks for your comments John and we look forward to welcoming you when we open.

We are so excited to be coming to wonderful Wanstead having frequented the area so much over the last twenty years myself with family living here.

Hopefully you will then see that our finest artisan cheese, charcuterie, fish, Mediterranean dishes etc are simply delicious rather than anything else. Please email me directly at info@mustwine.co.uk and I will invite you to the opening!
