Lo and behold I understand planning permission [application] has gone in for flats and a mini shopping mall, whoa spooky! Not really I just realised I had never taken a close up of the building.”

Yes but this was probably hastily put up after WW2 bomb damage. No reason now to replace it with an inappropriate development.
Thank you for your comments. I think you are right, it was put up after bomb damage during World War Two. I am quite happy to keep it there better the building you know etc.,
