Interesting around 1/3 of jounrneys in Holland is by bike. It’s pssible that without the constant repairing of damage caused by cars they can concentrate resources on infrastructure in a more timely manner.
I am reminded of the combat engineers of the US Army who produced a fully functioning long-range aerodrome on a South Pacific island in less than a day. All while under constant enemy bombardment.
But then I suppose they didn’t have the Street Works Act to contend with…..
