Wanstead’s first frost, 2013
13 November – Wanstead’s first frost of the season, though it came a bit unexpectedly. (We know some others take this sort of thing very seriously, but this now counts as a tradition for Wansteadium)

2011 – 25 November
2010 – 21 October

Wanstead and Snaresbrook council meeting, livetweeting thereof
Wansteadium’s exclusive livetweeting of the area 1 committee of Redbridge Borough Council, which concerns Wanstead and Snaresbrook. We say exclusive, because we don’t think there were any reporters at the meeting (though we may be wrong about that). Tweets are in chronological order, more or less.

Wanstead Magazine Club recharged
The much celebrated Wanstead Magazine Club, which saves unloved but otherwise excellent magazines and distributes them in public places in the interests of general improvement, has had a recharge with fresh stocks of lush magazines including National Geographic, Monocle, Which?, and lots more. The current crop is in the Larder, but more will be added to our regular haunts – watch our @Wansteadium Twitter feed for details.
Meanwhile, eyes were attracted by this seemingly new and exciting contribution: a big glossy magazine called Wanstead Life. How exciting! Until, upon reading, it turns out there is just one article about Wanstead, and that’s concerning an exhibition about Wanstead Flats, though neighbouring areas were also mentioned. (It seems this is not to be confused with the similarly named West Essex Life.)
Wanstead weekend photo, LI
Geoff Wilkinson writes on Wanstead Daily Photo: “I took this photograph tonight, I was out looking for firework displays but couldn’t resist this pattern caused by a street lamp. Let me know if you have any idea where it is.”
