Wanstead’s first frost, 2013

20131113-083833.jpg

13 November – Wanstead’s first frost of the season, though it came a bit unexpectedly. (We know some others take this sort of thing very seriously, but this now counts as a tradition for Wansteadium)
For sake of reference:
2012 – 6 November
2011 – 25 November
2010 – 21 October

Reader Matt Bennett writes:
Just wanted to share this picture with you. It’s Wanstead green and with the weather the way it was this morning
I felt compelled to take a picture.
No filter and everything!
Anyway the result put a massive smile on my face and made me proud to
Think I live in such a beautiful place.

Wanstead and Snaresbrook council meeting, livetweeting thereof

Wansteadium’s exclusive livetweeting of the area 1 committee of Redbridge Borough Council, which concerns Wanstead and Snaresbrook. We say exclusive, because we don’t think there were any reporters at the meeting (though we may be wrong about that). Tweets are in chronological order, more or less.

Wanstead Magazine Club recharged

The much celebrated Wanstead Magazine Club, which saves unloved but otherwise excellent magazines and distributes them in public places in the interests of general improvement, has had a recharge with fresh stocks of lush magazines including National Geographic, Monocle, Which?, and lots more. The current crop is in the Larder, but more will be added to our regular haunts – watch our @Wansteadium Twitter feed for details.

Until, upon reading, it turns out there is just one article about Wanstead, and that’s concerning an exhibition about Wanstead Flats, though neighbouring areas were also mentioned. (It seems this is not to be confused with the similarly named West Essex Life.)
